It’s that time of year once again, the Oscar nominations have been unveiled!
We’re incredibly proud to share that our alumni have contributed to four nominated films in the category Best Visual Effects & Animation. A huge congratulations to our super talented alumni!
The 95th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
Dream run continues for Arena Geeta Bhawan Indore graduates at Academy Awards & other global prestigious awards. For 2023 our three super talented graduates are involved in providing Animation & Visual effects for four films, which have got the nominations at 95th Academy Awards under Best Visual Effects & Best Animated Films.
Deepak Rai has worked on giving Vfx to two films-“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever & “Top Gun: Maverick” whereas Anukrati Talati has worked on ‘The Sea Beast’ & Priyank Singh Chauhan has worked on “Top Gun: Maverick”. All these movies are among the shortlist for the 2023 Academy Awards, which were announced recently.
Deepak Rai works as Senior Matchmove Artist with US based Outpost VFX whereas Anukrati Talati works with Sony Picture Imageworks, Canada & Priyank Singh Chauhan works with MPC, India. Congratulations and Good luck to all of our graduates involved. Deepak & Anukrati are 2009-2012 batch alumni whereas Priyank is 2014-2017 batch graduate from Arena Geeta Bhawan, Indore.
During 2022 also 10 alumni were part of Shortlisted Oscar nominated films including Sandeep Choudhary, Devesh Anita Satish Neema, Bhanu Rathore, Chetan Rathore, Gaurav Jayant, Ravindra Rathore, Prateek Sharma, Bhumika Thakuria, Tribhuvan Parkhe and Amit Kumar Dwivedi for movies ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’, ‘No time to Die’ and ‘Dune’.Out of these 7 alumni were part of Best Vfx Oscar Winning film Dune.
Over 30 graduates till date from Arena Animation Geeta Bhawan Square, Indore, have contributed in animation and visual effects, editing etc. as part of various Oscar and National Award Winning Film shows.
Students trained by Arena Geeta Bhawan have got over 200 laurels, and 28+ graduates have already earned credits in Top global Honor’s in Seven Oscar Award Winning films for Outstanding Visual Effects,animation, editing and Four National Award Winning Animation/VFX work in Film. Arena Geeta Bhawan, Indore graduates are also associated with thousands of leading Films, Web series, top-performing Games, leading TV Channels, digital media and other creative projects.
Arena Geeta Bhawan, Indore is powered by Horizon Institute of Design, a Centre for excellence in the field of Design, Media and Entertainment. It has a glorious track record of two and half decades in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Trained students have been hired by top companies like Disney, Digital Domain, Framestore, DQ, Houdini, Adobe, Autodesk, Tata Elexi, Dneg, Deloitte Digital, IBM, HCL, IIT-IDC, Sony, MPC, Redchillies, OandM, Mudra, CNBC TV18 etc.
The Students have received over 200 Awards and Cash Prizes from Creative Minds, Golden Cursor, Gujarat Film Festival, Do Good Karma, Chandigarh International Film Festival, Chambal Film Festival, Chitra Bharti, Fame, U Special, 48 hours film project, Orbit Live and other top Festivals.
Many Industry experts across the globe regularly share their expertise with their students via Case Studies, Master Classes, Workshops and Seminars. Institute regularly organizes Industry Visits, Contests, Exhibitions and Campus Interactions to enhance employability.
For Skill improvisation under Social Incubation initiatives, the institute works with leading Management Associations like IMA and various State Police departments, RRCAT, Indore Marathoners, Road Safety Foundation, Earth and Us etc., by providing Animation and Motion Graphics contents for effective communication.
Last year, the Indian M&E sector crossed INR 1.9 Trillion, and with robust growth, it is expected to cross INR 3.0 Trillion by 2024 as per the recent FICCI-E&Y Report. Hence this sector is amongst the sunrise sector of India and is expected to blaze a trail, outpacing most other segments.
