Fancy a world without the growing menace of plastic pollution? After leaf plates, the world of science has thrown another innovative idea that could not only serve as an alternative to plastic but can revolutionize the world in unimaginable ways. Experts from the Skipping Rocks Lab, London, UK have introduced ‘edible water bottles’ that are believed to hydrate the same way as water does.
Yes! Ooho is the reality today. These tiny blobs look like giant drops of water and are actually ice dipped in a solution of brown algae and calcium chloride – completely bio-degradable and digestible by the human body.

Skipping Rocks Lab is a brainchild of three London-based design students who decided to create sustainable projects. Ooho happens to be the first in the series. Ooho balls are currently under trial and are aimed to be introduced at events like food and music festivals, sporting events, marathons, et cetera. The project has already seen a huge response with mammoth monetary funding and close to 500 investors! Oohos are tasteless but the makers confirm that these can easily be flavoured.
