The Indian Media & Entertainment (M&E) Industry in 2016 was able to sustain a healthy growth on the back of strong economic fundamentals and steady growth in domestic consumption coupled with growing contribution of rural markets across key segments. The primary theme in 2016 has been around the ‘Bharat’ story with media consumption becoming more mass in nature. The long-term outlook is positive with strong economic outlook, growing rural demand, increasing digital access and consumption, and the expected culmination of the digitization process of television distribution.
